CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) — The band director of a Northwest Florida high school has received a prestigious award for his dedication to the program.
Crestview High School's Jody Dunn received an award through the John Philip Sousa Foundation, honoring Dunn for his contributions to music.
According to an Okaloosa County School District news release, Dunn has been a band director for 35 years, with 31 of those being at CHS, his alma mater.
Dunn's bands have received superior ratings in many competitions, including the Florida Bandmasters Association District and State Concert MPA, Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Band Festival and the Smoky Mountain Music Festival.
