Three men appeared before a judge Tuesday afternoon at the Montreal courthouse where they face charges related to the fatal stabbing of an unhoused man during the weekend at an encampment near the Place St-Henri métro station.
The men were arrested Sunday after the victim, Manuel De Jesus Garcia Zamora, 42, was attacked early that morning.
Nigel Moses, 40, is charged with second-degree murder while the two other men — Leamcharoeung Yort, 50, and Vincent Gagné Giard, 29 — are charged with aggravated assault.
All three of the accused appeared before Quebec Court Judge Nathalie Fafard. The Crown objected to their release and they will be detained for their next court appearance on Friday.
