MADISON (WKOW) -- A man was arrested on Monday after police said he stole from a store and spit on two different people, including an officer.

Jose A. Lino, 61, was arrested for discharging bodily fluids at public safety officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, concealed carry weapon, disorderly conduct, retail theft and resisting.

Madison police were called around 7:19 p.m. to a business in the 100 block of North Broom Street for a disturbance, according to an incident report.

Staff said Lino came into the business and stole a few items. When confronted, he spit on an employee before leaving, according to police.

Lino was found in the 300 block of State Street. Police said he resisted and spit on an arresting officer. Lino was taken to the hospital and tested for significant exposur
