HALE COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A 5-year-old and 11-year-old are being treated for injuries they sustained in a crash and vehicle fire. The crash also killed a 26-year-old driver.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), around 7:40 a.m., Janae L. Neese, 26, of Eutaw was killed when the 2017 Hyundai Elantra she was driving hit the end of a 2018 Freightliner M2 garbage truck.
ALEA says after Neese’s car hit the truck, her car caught on fire. Neese was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to ALEA, a 5-year-old and 11-year-old who were in the car in with Neese were injured and airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
ALEA says the crash occurred on Alabama 14 near the 53 mile marker, about 10 miles east of Eutaw.
