SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A student in Tennessee was sent home from school after allegedly dressing up as a Ku Klux Klan member on Halloween.

Bedford County Schools confirmed to WSMV4 that the student was partially dressed as a member of the KKK and allegedly told their teacher they were dressed as a priest.

The student later told classmates that they were a Klan member and revealed their full costume.

“The student was sent home after the parent was contacted and was gone from the school by approximately 10:30 am, and severe disciplinary measures were imposed in response to this unacceptable choice. Our administration handled this matter swiftly and with full seriousness,” BCS said.
