GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Public Library recently received notice that they were awarded a $10,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the foundation established by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.
The grant comes as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The Grand Island Public Library has grown out of the original building, but it is still standing in downtown Grand Island. Library Director Celine Swan said she’s grateful for the gift because library services are needed now more than ever.
