KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - CLASS Act, a fundraising branch of the Kearney Public Schools Foundation, awarded nearly $94,000 in classroom and building grants to Kearney Public Schools educators and buildings on Oct. 30, continuing its mission to support academics, technology, athletics, fine arts, drug/alcohol education, and student safety throughout the district.

Each fall, KPS teachers are invited to apply for classroom grants. This year, CLASS Act received 45 applications requesting more than $127,000. Approximately $48,000 in Teacher Grants was awarded to fund projects including musical instruments, flexible seating, literacy and Spanish learning tools, a 3D printer, and a field trip to UNMC for students in need of dental care.
