BEATRICE, Neb. (KOLN) - The community of Beatrice is working to enhance its outdoor spaces by upgrading some playgrounds, and making sure the equipment on those playgrounds are inclusive for people of all abilities.
Amanda Kuhlman, the Community Relations Coordinator for the City, shared a little more about these playgrounds. “The City of Beatrice was able to get a $958,000 grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development with its Rural Communities Recovery Program. That grant is intended to be used for ‘adaptive reuse projects’. We are enhancing our public spaces, by updating some of our playgrounds with inclusive playground equipment.”
One playground that is finished with the upgrades is Froberry Park. “This park has been a huge hit so far, and it’s a neighborhood playground,
