WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - It’s arguably the biggest race in Jefferson County this year: 4 candidates vying for two seats on Watertown City Council.
7 News spoke with Anthony Velazquez, Pete Monaco, Doug Osborne, and Shane Garrabrant on Election Day.
Although their platforms may differ, they do share one thing, and that’s a sense of cautious optimism.
We spoke with Monaco as he voted at St. Anthony’s Church, where he told us he’s feeling good about the election, citing both his experience as a former public works superintendent and a strong performance in June’s primary election
“This is how I was born and brought up. I have true concern for the city. Get out and vote if you haven’t already voted. I’d appreciate you to vote for me, but if you don’t, at least vote,” he said.
