INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts traded for New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner for two of the best reasons around.
One, because Colts general manager Chris Ballard – for whatever reason, who’s to say? – has completely shifted his conservative, prudent approach. Ballard at the NFL trade deadline used to be like Ballard during free agency: Reasonable, careful, cautious. Oh, let’s say it: He was cheap. He was the guy taking city transit before walking into a bar and asking for a pitcher of tea. Chamomile, preferably. Because that stuff is good for your skin and for your sleep.
