Two men were arrested by the Santa Maria Police Department early Tuesday morning, on suspicion of felony burglary after being located outside of a business by SMPD officers.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. on Nov. 4, officers responded to the 1000 block of W. La Brea regarding a possible commercial burglary in progress.

According to the department, officers conducted an exterior check of the business upon arrival and heard sounds consistent with subjects jumping a chain-link fence on the southeast side of the property.

Officers subsequently located and detained two individuals, later identified as 31-year-old Hector Cruz Hernandez and 33-year-old Jose Luna, pending further investigation.
