MICHIGAN, USA — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed seven bipartisan bills aimed at protecting Michigan's environment and supporting National Guard members, bringing her total signed legislation to 1,531 bills since taking office.
The legislation includes House Bill 4962 , sponsored by Rep. Ron Robinson (R-Utica), which establishes a Michigan National Guard Member Benefit Fund to help servicemembers afford childcare, health care and tuition. The bill will not take effect immediately as tie-barred legislation has not yet passed.
House Bill 4392 , sponsored by Rep. Ken Borton (R-Gaylord), allocates $41.8 million from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund for 85 projects statewide, including wildlife habitat protection, trail construction and park improvements.
