LA PAZ COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — The Arizona Department of Public Safety has confirmed that two people were killed in an early morning crash on Interstate 10 near Quartzsite on Tuesday.
DPS spokesperson Bart Graves told Arizona’s Family that the wreck involved three vehicles and happened around 4:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway.
Authorities said two people died in the crash but didn’t specify their ages or genders, and it’s unclear if anyone else was injured.
Troopers also haven’t said what led up to the crash or whether speed or impairment were possible factors.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the crash caused an hours-long closure near milepost 44, about a mile west of the Pride Travel Center in Salome . I-10 has since reopened in the area.
