RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The FBI is assisting the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is finding a missing at risk 9-year-old girl who may have traveled through Nevada
Police are seeking information related to Melodee Buzzard, her mother Ashlee and the car they were traveling in as the investigation now spans multiple states.
The investigation into Buzzard’s disappearance began on Oct. 14 when a school administrator reported that she had had a prolonged absence. Police attempted to locate Melodee and her mother at their Lompoc residence, but found only Ashlee, who police say had no verifiable explanation for her the whereabouts of her missing daughter.
Police say Ashlee has been uncooperative and has not confirmed her daughter’s location or welfare.
