Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left two pedestrians hurt Monday afternoon in the city’s southwest.
The collision happened around 3:55 p.m. at the intersection of Shannon Avenue SW and James McKevitt Road SW.
According to police, a vehicle struck two pedestrians and fled the scene without stopping.
Emergency crews responded and both victims were rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators remain on scene, speaking with witnesses to gather more information about the vehicle and the events leading up to the crash.
As a result of the investigation, the following road closures are in effect: • Northbound James McKevitt Road SW is closed from 162 Avenue SW to Shawnessy Boulevard SW • Southbound traffic is being diverted at Everwillow Boulevard
