POST FALLS, Idaho — The City of Post Falls received a $1.25 million Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to help develop the Quarry Sports Complex.
The city says it was notified in October of this year that its application for the grant received final approval from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.
According to the city, the LWCF grant needs a 50% match. This will be funded through park impact fees, and the total grant for the project will be approximately $2,764,985. The city says Phase 1 of construction costs around $5 million.
In the city's press release, it states that the Parks and Recreation Department has been working on the project for the past five years, and the construction plans for Phase 1 are 90% complete.
