It may not be located at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, but a replica of the house from The Munsters looms large in Waxahachie, Texas. It belongs to Sandra McKee and her husband, Charles, who live next door and open the mansion up for private tours and murder mystery dinner parties.
The Munsters, which aired for two seasons from 1964 to 1966, centred on a family of harmless monsters living in suburbia. Their beloved pet — Spot, the fire-breathing dragon — lived under the stairs.
“Most people didn’t get past the characters to notice the house,” Sandra told Texas Monthly in 2021. “But I loved the house. You could flow from any room without turning around and going back. The flow was wonderful.”
