SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital officials say Lake Charles Memorial Health System is encroaching on their turf.

WCCH officials say they have filed a petition, accusing Memorial of operating in its hospital service district without the “required consent” of the WCCH Board of Directors.

“We respectfully call on Lake Charles Memorial Health System to cease its unlawful activities in our district and to work with WCCH collaboratively as has previously been the case for many years so that together we can preserve access to care for the people we are entrusted to serve,” WCCH officials wrote in a media release.

Memorial and WCCH are both community-owned hospitals with parish-designated service districts.
