LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – State lawmakers and community members gathered Tuesday morning for an emotional subcommittee hearing on the topic of "biological alteration" of minors.

Members heard from people who have transitioned and detransitioned, a Michigan mother, and a health care provider, who spoke of negative experiences with transitioning.

"I was made into a medical experiment, and the experiment was a catastrophic failure," said Prisha Masley, who testified about her experience transitioning and detransitioning.

State Rep. Sharon MacDonell (D-Birmingham) says, "a recent study including about 90,000 people found that only 1-2% of people who have had transitions are dissatisfied afterwards."
