AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in two package thefts at a southeast Austin apartment complex.

Police said the suspect took several packages from the mailroom at the Bennett Apartments near Interstate 35. Detectives are investigating at least two break-ins, the most recent on Oct. 21 around 6:30 p.m. Another theft was reported Oct. 1 about 9:45 p.m.

The suspect is described as a young Black man with a heavy build, medium-length dreadlocks with tight curls and an “R” tattoo on his left hand near the base of his thumb.
