Starting at 7 am, voters filed into their local polling places. We went to the polls early Tuesday to speak with voters and officials, who all said that this year's election received more attention than usual.
"We're looking at a really strong turnout early on, numbers are still all over the place, as low as maybe eight or nine percent in some precincts, and upwards of 37% as of 2 o'clock this afternoon," said Karen Chillcott, Erie County Clerk.
Election officials and volunteers were hard at work from morning until 8 o'clock at night. We visited the polls to see just how many people showed up to cast their ballots on election day.
