MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested a man Tuesday for attempted murder while he was in court for a traffic ticket.
U.S. Marshals said that the task force had information that James Lyon, 57, wanted in a 2023 shooting, had a traffic ticket that would be addressed in state court.
When the task force arrived, they saw Lyons waiting in court and took him into custody.
Court records show he was indicted on Oct. 7 for attempted first-degree murder, employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in a 2023 case.
In June of 2023, officers responded to an aggravated assault in the 400 block of Richmond Avenue.
Police said when they arrived, they saw a woman had been shot in the head, and she was taken to the hospital i
