Incumbent Republican Bruce Blakeman declared victory Tuesday night in one of Long Island’s most closely watched political contests, securing a second term as Nassau County Executive.

Unofficial returns showed Blakeman leading Democratic County Legislator Seth Koslov by a margin of 54% to 46% with 76% of precincts reporting as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections.

Speaking to supporters at his election night headquarters, Blakeman thanked voters for their continued confidence in his leadership.

“I want to thank the men and women of Nassau County for your trust to lead us going forward,” Blakeman said. “If it’s not for the people of Nassau County coming out the way they did, we wouldn’t have had the result we had tonight.”

Blakeman, who earned the endorsement of President Donald Trump, campaigned on public safety and fiscal restraint, pledging to hold the line on taxes while maintaining services. He positioned himself as a steady hand amid rising costs and emphasized his record on crime reduction and financial management.

Koslov, a first-term legislator, ran as a reform-minded challenger advocating for transparency and a crackdown on wasteful spending. His campaign focused on restoring accountability and providing a new direction for county government.

The victory ensures Blakeman will continue overseeing a multibillion-dollar budget and leading more than 1.3 million residents, steering one of New York’s largest suburban counties through challenges tied to affordability, infrastructure, and public trust.

Official results will be certified by the Nassau County Board of Elections in the coming days.
