BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) - As the government shutdown enters its second month, a downtown Beaverton coffee shop has set up a 24-hour pet pantry to help families struggling to feed their pets.

Mutts Coffee Roasters placed donation tubs outside their front door filled with free pet food and supplies. The items represent only a fraction of donations received in recent days, according to co-owner Mark Wilcox.

“It’s really amazing to see when people come together,” Wilcox said.

For five years, Mutts Coffee Roasters has helped dogs by donating 25% of coffee and product sales to animal causes.
