CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- The City of Champaign Township Supervisor announced Tuesday evening that he will be stepping down from his role.
In an email sent to WCIA, Patterson said his final day will be Nov. 18. He cited ongoing health issues, and the job's stress as the reason for his resignation.
"It was an honor to be able to serve my hometown for the last 21 months and to lead a staff that operates such important programs that serve our most vulnerable residents," Patterson said. "For several years now I have experienced ongoing health issues and it has become apparent that this job’s stress and pressure have had a detrimental impact on my health and therefore I must leave to be able to take better care of my health."
