(WSPA) - Voters in two Spartanburg County school districts approved bond referendums to help pay for major upgrades.
Spartanburg School District One and Spartanburg District 5 are each looking to raise money through bonds to fund construction of new and upgraded schools.
Both districts said the bonds would not require a tax increase.
In Spartanburg School District One, voters approved a $140 million bond which would help modernize facilities for students.
The district said the money would go toward rebuilding two schools: O.P. Earle Elementary School and T.E. Mabry Middle School.
New Prospect Elementary School would also see significant upgrades.
In Spartanburg District 5, the $200 million bond would help combat overcrowding in the district.
