KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville voters elected five new members to Knoxville City Council on Tuesday night.

The 2025 election will reshape the council for the next four years. Also on the ballot was a half-cent sales tax increase .

Election turnout was low this year. It's worth noting this was the first general election since the state passed a measure limiting Knoxville voters from casting ballots for candidates across all districts. This time, voters could only cast a ballot in elections that fell within their district.

Out of the nearly 83,000 registered voters in the city, 24,830 turned up to vote, which is 30% of registered voters.

Below are the preliminary, unofficial results with 100% of the 52 precincts reporting across the city.
