Five years later, Georgians were able to pick not just one, but two seats of the all-Republican, five-person Public Service Commission (PSC) that regulates the state's largest utility company, Georgia Power, and the electricity bills its customers pay. More than 700,000 people of the more than 1.2 million who voted chose Democrat, more than enough to flip two seats blue.

At about 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 4, Democrats Alicia Johnson of District 2 and Peter Hubbard of District 3 dunked a double-whammy over their respective Republican incumbents, Tim Echols, who was elected in 2010 and 2016, and Fitz Johnson, appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp in 2021.
