FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — It is projected that Franklin Township voters approved a 6.89 mills levy Tuesday to continue funding for fire services.

The five-year levy will continue funding for fire services and cost property owners about $137 annually for every $100,000 of assessed home value.

This comes after attempts last November and in May, which forced the township to close one of its two fire stations and lay off multiple firefighters.

According to township data, Franklin Township Fire Department averages about 12,000 calls per year. More than 8,000 of those calls are into the city of Columbus.
