Voters in Springfield Township, Mahoning County, have approved a proposed additional 3.5 mill tax for its Fire and EMS Services.

Two hundred ninety-eight votes were for the levy, and 250 were against the levy.

The levy is for emergency services for the township, providing funds for full-time, part-time firefighters, emergency medical service, and administration; firefighting equipment and ambulance equipment, including paramedic, or other emergency medical services, operated by a fire department.

The levy will provide approximately $851,668 annually, which will cost property owners $123 for each $100,000 of the appraised value, first due in 2026.
