Voters in Farmington Township in Trumbull County have passed the continuing 2.9 mills renewal plus additional levy for providing and maintaining fire and EMS protection.

It passed by one vote, 152 for the levy, 151 against.

The levy will cost property owners in the township $102 for each $100,000 of appraised value, and was estimated to bring in $203,907 in funding for the department to operate.

The votes will have to have a recount scheduled due to how close the vote was. Ohio law states that any local election result with a margin of 0.5% or less will trigger an automatic recount.
