PHOENIX – The second round of Maricopa County election results were released on Wednesday evening and slightly widened the divide between votes for Proposition 409, a nearly $900 million health care bond measure.
Initial Election Day results on Tuesday night showed Prop 409 leading 50.96% yes to 49.04% no. Meanwhile, the new wave of votes showed Prop 409 leading 51.2% yes to 48.8% no.
The total number of ballots cast at 7 p.m. on Wednesday were 605,406 with a turnout of 22.82%. Prop 409 was split by 14,404 votes with 307,157 Arizonans voting yes and 292,753 voting no.
According to Maricopa County Elections, there are still 103,690 ballots that have not been counted. Of those ballots, 93,100 are ready for pre-tabulation processing, 90 are provisional ballots and 10,500 are early ballots
