WARREN Voters in the City of Warren have voted in favor of making the city's 2.5% income tax permanent.
The issue passed by 65.5%.
Previously, residents had to vote to renew the income tax every five years. With the passing of this issue, the tax will be permanent and residents will no longer need to vote to renew it.
The money generated from the income tax will be used to maintain the city's police and fire departments, as well as road repairs and other essential operations throughout the city.
Warren's income tax $5 million of the city's $17 million for its police and fire departments.
