Australians are set to receive three hours of free electricity every day under the new Solar Sharer program , designed to make better use of the nation’s strong solar energy and help ease cost-of-living pressures.

What Each State Will Receive

New South Wales:

Homes across NSW will be among the first to access the program. From July 2026 , participating households will get up to three hours of free power during the middle of the day . The free period is expected to fall between late morning and early afternoon when solar supply is highest.

South Australia:
