SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Nov. 4 is a special Election Day for California voters, as they will determine the fate of a measure intended to help send more Democrats to Congress.
Proposition 50, if passed, would approve Democratic-drawn maps targeting five California Republicans in an effort touted by state leaders as a way to offset Texas' efforts to send more Republicans to the Lower House.

The measure would redraw district boundaries to favor a specific party, otherwise known as the formerly frowned-upon practice of gerrymandering.
