CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - With the government shutdown continuing to impact people nationwide, multiple agencies are coming together to support local military families.

Tuesday marked the start of a four-day resource fair.

The fair will be held in collaboration with local government agencies across Southwest Kentucky and Montgomery County, Tennessee.

“We knew this was bigger than just any one city or county,” said organizer Shannon Lane. “This was really a regional approach, so that’s where we reached out to our friends to the south of the border in Tennessee and said, ‘hey, would you guys mind joining us?’”

Lane says more than 8,400 federal employees have been affected by the shutdown.
