New Delhi: International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) will retrench thousands of workers in the fourth quarter of 2025 as it focuses increasingly on its software and services business. The relocation follows the firm as it continues to consolidate operations and position itself in the fast-evolving technological environment that is taken over by artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
The layoffs, according to Bloomberg, will cover a low single-digit percentage of the global staff of IBM. This firm has an average of 270,000 employees across the globe. Although it may affect some of the U.S. workers, general employment within the country will not change significantly, IBM said. The technology company emphasised that workforce analysis and changes are an aspect of continuous changes
