APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - SNAP benefits ran out for millions of families this past weekend, leaving parents scrambling to put food on the table.

While the Trump administration has said partial funding might be available, it’s still unclear when families will actually see that money.

One Appleton mother shares her struggles as she waits for answers from Washington.

Tiara Kelly, a single mom of a two-year-old son in Appleton, checks her fridge and plans dinner, like any busy parent.

Perishable food supplies are running low after Kelly didn’t receive her SNAP benefits on Saturday.

“It was... pretty devastating actually,” Kelly said. She hasn’t received benefits since the beginning of October.
