IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The results are in for the Iowa City City Council races, according to a preliminary count
AT LARGE:
Both incumbents, Megan Altar and Mayor Bruce Teague, won reelection.
Teague got 37.3% of the vote, and Altar got 31.3%.
Teague was first elected to the council during a special election in 2018, and was first elected by the council to serve as mayor in 2020.
Challengers were Newman Abuissa, who got 13.1% and Clara Reynen, who got 18.3%.
DISTRICT B:
In District B, incumbent Shawn Harmsen got 54.1% of the vote, winning reelection against challenger Amy Hospodarsky.
