9:54 p.m.: Santa Fe mayoral candidate Michael Garcia predicted the race would be decided after four rounds under the city’s ranked choice voting system, with Jeanne O’Dean the first to be eliminated, followed by Letitia Montoya and Tarin Nix.

Former city councilor JoAnne Vigil Coppler, who is currently in fifth place in the eight-person race, “might push somebody over — I’m hoping it’s me,” Garcia said.

“It’s all a percentage game right now,” he said.

Garcia said he had about a 2,000-vote margin at the moment. As of a little before 10 p.m. he was in the lead with 36% of the almost 21,000 votes that had been counted.

“It’s anybody’s game right now,” he said.
