Ike Anyanwu-Ebo was leading in the race for the Adams 12 District 3 school board seat, based on early election results.

Anyanwu-Ebo had 54.3% of the vote and opponent Juan Evans had 45.7%, as of 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyanwu-Ebo is a mechanical engineer and serves on the Adams 12 District Accountability Committee. Evans has a finance and business background and has served on the Adams 12 Five Star Foundation Board. The winner will replace Courtney Potter, who did not run for reelection after serving a four-year term.

Anyanwu-Ebo has said the top issue facing the school district is funding. His platform includes advocating for adequate funding for mental health programs, improving academic performance and using data to decide on spending priorities.
