EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Fort Bliss officials said there was not a shooting or active shooter incident on post on Tuesday night, Nov. 4.

Army officials said they felt compelled to address a "large amount" of erroneous reports of a shooting on the post.

"This is not the case. There was no shooting or active shooter situation on Fort Bliss. Fort Bliss takes all potential threats to the installation and its population seriously. The safety of our Soldiers, families, and community remains our top priority," Fort Bliss officials said.

Fort Bliss posted this information on its Facebook page but then deleted it. They had also emailed the same information out to us at KTSM.
