During A somewhat clandestine Oval Office visit Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir presented President Trump a casket of precious minerals that Pakistan is planning to mine in the southern province of Baluchistan.

The meeting underscores two points. First, Trump’s relentless efforts to secure the supply of precious minerals for the United States. Second is Pakistan’s ascendency to be one of Trump’s favorite countries in Asia.
