Duval County Public Schools will be saying so long to its current district headquarters on the Southbank.
Tuesday night, in a 4- 3 vote, the school board voted to sell the headquarters on Prudential Drive and also approved the purchase of a new location on Prominence Parkway, near I-95 and Baymeadows.
Just a month before, the board unanimously voted down both the sale and purchase. However, with different deals on the table, board members were sold.
This time, the board approved the sale of the Southbank location for $17.2 million to Chase Properties, Inc.
Then they went on to approve the purchase of a new central office at 8928 Prominence Parkway, a site that can hold over 900 district staff members.
