All four incumbent candidates retained their spots on the Butler Area School District’s board as a result of Tuesday’s general election in which five candidates campaigned for four open seats, according to unofficial election results reported in Butler County Bureau of Elections summary reports.
The unofficial results from the Nov. 4 election show John Conrad topped the polls with 9,041 votes, 23.6% of the vote. This was followed by Al Vavro with 7,882 votes, 20.5% of the vote; then Gary Shingleton with 7,818 votes, 20.4% of the vote; and Nina Teff with 7,480 votes, 19.5% of the vote.
This left newcomer Eric Reffert, who was on the Democratic ticket, as the odd one out with 5,832 votes, or 15.2% of the vote.
Conrad was born and raised in the Butler area and currently lives in Butler Tow
