DERRY - The sixth-seeded Dover High School volleyball team is no stranger to games going the full five sets this season as that was the case in six of the team's games this season.
And Dover head coach Whitney Carrier said when that situation came up in Tuesday's Division I semifinal against No. 2 Londonderry, the Green Wave didn't blink.
The Green Wave won the first two sets, but lost the next two, forcing a winner-take-all fifth set. Dover delivered a 15-13 win and pulled off the upset to advance to the program's first Division I state championship since 2019.
"My heart rate is a little elevated, and my voice is gone, but it's a good feeling," Carrier said. "We knew we could do it if the girls just worked as hard as they did today. Not surprised, but happy."
Individual scores were 26
