AVON — Avon had plenty to celebrate on Tuesday night.

The No. 2 River Hawks earned a win over No. 3 Bishop Kearney/Chesterton/Archangel in three sets in the Section V Class C1 semifinal. Mollie Gunther also had a milestone evening, recording her 1,000th career assist.
