DWP's new measures to curb fraudulent PIP claims worth up to £749 monthly View 2 Images

The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) has recently confirmed it remains "dedicated" to combating fraud and error within the benefits system, including recouping debts arising from Personal Independent Payments ( PIP ). Conservative MP Sir John Hayes recently questioned the DWP about what action it is taking to "tackle people fraudulently claiming PIP".

In a written reply , DWP Minister Andrew Western outlined fresh measures being brought in to "prevent fraud entering the system based on the types of cases and trends we have seen". This encompasses "introducing more stringent checks for customers changing personal details, including bank accounts".
