It’s only a few days until Manchester’s Christmas markets open to the public with thousands of visitors set to descend upon the festive wooden huts across the city centre in the coming weeks.

This year there will be more than 270 stalls spanning 10 locations in the city, including Albert Square which will welcome a ‘mini market’ for the first time in six years.

According to travel website Locals Insider, the city scored 78.8 out of 100 in a nationwide study comparing the UK’s leading festive destinations.
