SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The City of San Diego honored late San Diego Padres Owner and Chairman Peter Seidler on Tuesday.

San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing the unveiling of "Peter Seidler Way," a road named after the beloved Padres icon.

The Peter Seidler Way signs were found along Eleventh Avenue and Imperial Avenue, and Trevor Hoffman Way and Park Boulevard.

"Peter Seidler loved San Diego. His compassion and leadership changed lives, from helping people off the streets to building community through @Padres baseball. Today, we renamed a street near @PetcoPark as “Peter Seidler Way” ensuring his legacy lives on. #ForAllofUs," the City of San Diego said on X.
